Accepting a Call to ActionAs practicing educators who provide relevant and timely professional development, Evolving Educators, LLC accepts the call to action as outlined in NETP. We feel it's our responsibility to develop training opportunities based on the NETP to improve the use and implementation of educational technology in education. As a result, we have developed professional development sessions that build upon the recommendations in the plan for the “effective use of technology to support learning and teaching” (p. 3) to help educators across our country become future ready and effective users of educational technology and digital content for the betterment of our students, colleagues, and education as a whole.

Training focused on youThe training opportunities listed below can be taken independently or grouped, as necessary, for educators, administrators, schools, districts, and institutions of higher education. They can be scheduled for small to large groups of educators, at your educational institution or part of a professional development we organize.
Each training addresses a specific aspect of the National Education Technology Plan and is hands-on and engaging that focuses on the participants learning, and provides educators with something they can try, do, and / or use the next day in their classroom, school, district, or higher education institution. |

Description: Implementing instructional change in a classroom, school, or district involves planning. Implementing technology that is truly transformative and improves teaching and learning involves a detailed plan that involves thought about infrastructure, devices, access, professional development, and budget. This training provides participants with the knowledge and hands-on experience to imagine, discuss, plan, and implement a technology plan that can be put into action.

Topic: Technology Enabled Assessments
Description: Classroom instruction and student learning can be supported, enhanced, and improved through technology enabled assessments. This hands-on training provides educators with examples of technology based assessments that provide data on student learning and how that data can be used to improve individual student learning and instruction. Participants will leave the training with technology enabled assessments that can be used the next day in their classrooms.

Topic: Leveraging Technology to Transform Learning
Description: Technology in the hands of students and teachers can be transformative if its use provides high-quality educational experiences. This training focuses on how classroom teachers can use educational technology to improve learning for every single student in the classroom. Participants will learn, in a hands-on training, how to personalize instruction, create a proper learning pace for every student, and how to assist students in understanding their own learning styles through the use of educational technology.

Description: It is essential, in a continuously developing digital age with daily growth of educational technology, for teachers to have the skills and understanding of how to effectively use technology in the classroom. This hands-on training focuses on helping teachers identify and select engaging and relevant digital learning content and educational technology.

Description: How can teachers, schools, school districts, and institutions of higher learning create engaging and powerful learning experiences for students during and outside the school day? This training focuses on re-imagining learning for your students by infusing educational technology into the learning process, and identifying, creating, and harnessing digital content.

Topic: Blended Learning Environments: A New Learning Environment for Students
Description: Implementing a blended learning environment requires planning and rethinking the structure of the classroom, when, where and how students learn, and what they use to enhance the learning experience. This training focuses on establishing a blended learning environment inside and outside the traditional classroom, what educational technology and digital content can be used to create a dynamic learning environment, and how to construct lessons for blended learning environments.
NETP: Learning - Engaging and Empowering Learning Through Technology
Topic: Gamification and Non-Cognitive Competencies: Using On-Line Games to Help Students with Peer Relations, Conflict and Motivation
Description: Gamification provides students with opportunities to try, make mistakes, adjust, and improve without the concern of penalty. NETP states, “accumulating evidence suggests that virtual environments and games can increase empathy, self-awareness, emotional regulation, social awareness, cooperation, and problem solving, while decreasing the number of behavior referrals and in-school suspensions” (p.8). This training focuses on what types of gamification and virtual reality environments are available for teachers to implement into their classrooms. Participants will work with the presenter on developing plans on how and what to implement and how to assess the educational value of the gamification and virtual reality used.

Description: The benefits of engaging in a digital world continue to increase for educators and students. However, with increased use comes increased responsibility. This training focuses on the importance of digital citizenship for students and educators, as we are all part of the global community. Participants will create a digital citizenship plan and resources for students that can be used for the classroom with minimal to maximum educational technology use.

This training focuses on what assistive technology is available and how to use it in the classroom. Additionally participants will develop a working knowledge of assistive technology they can use with their specific students, based on students’ needs.

Resources will be provided to help participants find specific types of technology and digital resources.
