A new year means a new outlook on the way you can evolve your social media approach as an educator. There are many ways that educators at the classroom, school, district, and university levels can reach stakeholders about the great things that are going on each day. Start with one social media platform, such as a Facebook page, to reach a wide audience. Then, as time goes on, consider posting to an additional platform like Instagram. The same content can be posted to both platforms and believe it or not reach different people. We all know that some people prefer one social media platform over another, so it can't hurt to take that extra step and post in another location. As you get accustomed to posting on two social media platforms, consider a third like X (formerly Twitter).
Evolving your social media approach does take time, but is most definitely worth the investment. There are platforms available to purchase that help with posting to multiple social media accounts with a few taps of the screen or clicks of the mouse. Consider looking into Class Intercom to manage your social media platforms. Buffer is another option and has a free price plan with limited options. Brad Currie, Founding Partner at Evolving Educators, wrote a book titled All Hands on Deck: Tools for Connecting Educators, Parents, and Communities. It contains great strategies, online tips, and examples that will help evolve your approach to social media integration. Get your copy today!
